# How to set up a QR queue

Updated: October 31, 2026 · https://kyuko.me/en/guides/setup/

> **In short.** Six steps: create an account and organisation, add a location, create a queue and choose its mode, add service points and staff, print a QR poster, then run your first shift. Your first organisation gets Business free for a month without a card, then Free with 1 location, 1 queue; 3 service points, 3 staff seats.

## Step-by-step guide

1. **Create an account.** Enter your name, email, password and organisation name, then create the account. You become the owner. The first month is on Business for free without a card, followed by Free unless you choose a paid plan.
2. **Add a location.** In Locations, add a name, address and time zone.
3. **Create a queue and choose its mode.** Choose walk-ins, bookings only or mixed; booking modes require «Business» and «Network». Select a location, queue name and QR address, ticket prefix and service duration. Then configure booking hours and rules, or services and specialists.
4. **Add service points and your team.** On the location page add a counter, bay or room and assign its queues. Invite staff by email and role under Team. Invitations last 7 days.
5. **Print a poster.** Open the queue poster, choose an industry template, optionally edit title and caption, download PDF and place it by the entrance.
6. **Run the first shift.** Staff open the board, choose their service point and tap Next. During service, Done and next completes the visit and calls the next person. If someone is absent, mark No-show before the next call.

## What to prepare

- Organisation name and location address.
- Services people queue for, each with its own queue and QR code.
- Counters, bays or rooms from which people are called.
- Email addresses for staff invitations.
- A poster printer; a TV or tablet display is optional.

## Location, queue and service point

- **Location:** Where you serve people: a branch, salon or room, each with its own address and time zone.
- **Queue:** What people come for: a service with its own QR code and numbers.
- **Service point:** Where you call from: a counter, bay or room. Staff call visitors from their point.
- **How they connect:** A point serves queues rather than belonging to one: one point can serve many queues and one queue can use many points.

> **Note.** Queue QR addresses cannot change after creation, keeping printed posters valid. Choose the address carefully.

## Team and roles

**Organisation roles**

| Role | Permissions |
| --- | --- |
| Owner | Everything: plan, payments, team, queues, screens, bookings, analytics and feedback |
| Manager | Configures locations, queues, points, screens and bookings; sees analytics and feedback; invites operators; cannot pay for the plan |
| Operator | Uses the board: calls, completes visits, adds tickets, changes queue status and manages bookings; cannot see settings, analytics or feedback |

- Managers invite operators only; owners assign other roles.
- Invitations last 7 days. The link appears once; a new invitation to the same email cancels the previous one.
- A failed invitation email does not invalidate the invitation. Share its link manually if needed.
- Staff limits include members and active invitations: 3 on Free, 10 on Business, 10 per paid location on Network.

## Screens, forms, booking and feedback

- Use Connect screen in Screens or on the location page to show calls. See [TV displays](https://kyuko.me/en/features/tv-display/).
- To collect visitor data, set up fields in the Client fields list and build the form in the queue card. See [Walk-in queue](https://kyuko.me/en/queues/live/).
- To remember regular clients, mark fields Save in client record and choose how to identify a person on the Clients page. See [client records](https://kyuko.me/en/features/clients/).
- Choose a booking mode in How the queue works and configure Booking. See [Time booking](https://kyuko.me/en/queues/booking/) and [Specialist booking](https://kyuko.me/en/queues/specialist/).
- Feedback collection is on by default and can be disabled per queue. See [Visitor feedback](https://kyuko.me/en/features/feedback/).
- Screens, dynamic QR, forms, booking and client records require Business or Network; feedback is on every plan.

## Check before launch

- Scan the QR on your phone and join to see your number and place.
- Tap Next on the board: the ticket shows Your turn and the service point.
- Enable browser or Telegram alerts on the ticket. On iPhone, Telegram is the simplest option.
- Tap Done: the number leaves the board and the feedback form appears on the ticket.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need to install anything?

No. The dashboard runs in Chrome or Edge 111+, Safari 16.4+ and Firefox 128+. Visitors also need no app.

### What equipment do I need?

A printer for the poster or a screen for the QR, and the visitor’s phone. An optional display can use a TV, monitor or tablet.

### How many queues can I create?

1 on Free, 5 on Business or 5 per paid location on Network. See [Pricing](https://kyuko.me/en/pricing/).

### Can I change the QR address after creating a queue?

No. The address uses 3–40 Latin characters and stays fixed so printed posters keep working. Choose carefully beforehand.

In Team, tap Invite and enter email and role. The invitation lasts 7 days; share the link manually if the email does not arrive.

### Is there a trial period?

Yes. Your first organisation gets Business free for a month without a card, then the time-unlimited Free plan. Choose paid when you need more queues, screens or booking.

### Where can I get help?

Use Help in the dashboard to send a question, report an issue or share an idea and message support. Outside the dashboard, see [About Kyuko](https://kyuko.me/en/about/).
