# Specialist booking: services, your specialist and a free time

Updated: October 31, 2026 · https://kyuko.me/en/queues/specialist/

> **In short.** Specialist booking suits salons, clinics and teams with individual schedules. Visitors choose services, a specialist or any available, and see times free for the entire visit. On arrival they check in with “I am here” and wait for their specialist to call. Available on «Business» and «Network».

## What specialist booking means

Book services with a particular person, such as a hairdresser, doctor or repair specialist. The system shows only times when the chosen person is free for the entire visit.

In the Ukrainian dashboard and booking page, specialists are called “maister” (specialist), and the mode is service with a specialist. Enable it for bookings-only or mixed queues. See [Time booking](https://kyuko.me/en/queues/booking/) for the difference from regular slots.

## How visitors book

1. **Choose services.** One or more, up to 8 per visit, performed in sequence by one specialist. The total visit duration appears below the list.
2. **Choose a specialist.** A specific person or any available. Only specialists performing all selected services are offered.
3. **Choose a time.** Only times fitting the entire visit and the break afterwards are shown.
4. **Leave contact details.** As with time booking, phone is requested by default; email may replace or accompany it. The specialist’s name appears on the booking page, in emails and in the calendar.
5. **Arrive and check in.** “I am here” opens 15 minutes before the time. The ticket shows the specialist and services, and that specialist calls the visitor.

## Services

- Up to 80 services per queue, each lasting 5–240 minutes.
- Up to 8 services in one visit, totalling up to 480 minutes. Disable multiple services to limit visitors to one.
- Hide a service from booking without deleting it.
- Booking start interval controls how often time choices appear: 5–60 minutes, default 15.
- Break between clients reserves up to 60 minutes after each visit. Visitors do not see the break, but its time is held.

## Specialists

- A specialist profile belongs to the whole organisation: a public name, offered services and optional individual service durations. Up to 100 profiles per organisation.
- Schedules are set per work location, by groups of days and with breaks. They apply to every queue at that location.
- Set holidays and days off as ranges, and special hours for individual dates.
- Link a profile to a staff account so the specialist sees their own bookings after login.
- To stop new bookings, turn off Accept bookings instead of deleting the profile.

## How availability is calculated

- Only the specialist’s schedule supplies hours. Bookings outside it are not accepted.
- The full visit, with sequential services and the following break, must fit within one schedule range.
- A specialist cannot be double-booked across any queues or locations: availability is shared throughout the organisation.
- Any available assigns the first free specialist in the order profiles were added. It then becomes a normal booking with that person.

## Specialists in walk-in queues

In mixed queues using specialist mode, [walk-ins](https://kyuko.me/en/queues/live/) also choose services and a specific or any available specialist.

- Walk-in service is planned to finish before the specialist’s next booking.
- The count ahead includes only people waiting for the same specialist. Estimated waiting time is not displayed for this queue.

## Booking links

Links and QR provides a queue booking link, a location page with bookable queues, and a direct link for each specialist to share in social media or messengers.

## What staff can do

- Book by phone selects services and a specialist, just like self-booking.
- Reschedule and cancel work as in [time booking](https://kyuko.me/en/queues/booking/), with an email if an address was provided.
- Staff assign a specialist to bookings without one, such as bookings made before the mode was enabled.
- The Staff report in [analytics](https://kyuko.me/en/features/analytics/) attributes visits and feedback to the specialist.

## Specialist data

- The business enters each specialist’s name, services, schedules and work locations. Linking a staff account is optional.
- Visitors see names and services without login. Names are absent from screens. See the [Privacy policy](https://kyuko.me/en/privacy/).

## Specialist booking and plans

Specialist booking is available on «Business» and «Network», like time booking, and not on Free. See [Pricing](https://kyuko.me/en/pricing/).

## What is not available yet

- Multiple specialists for one visit or services performed at the same time.
- Prepayments, group bookings and waiting lists.
- SMS and Viber: booking messages use email. After check-in, ticket notifications use the browser or Telegram.
- Renaming the specialist role, for example to Doctor.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can visitors choose a specific specialist?

Yes. Choose a person or any available and see only times free for the entire visit.

### What if several services are selected?

One specialist performs them in sequence. The visit lasts the sum of their durations, with up to 8 services. Businesses can disable multiple selection.

### Can two people book the same specialist at the same time?

No. Availability is shared across the organisation’s queues and locations, preventing double bookings.

### How does any available work?

The system assigns the first free specialist offering all selected services. The resulting booking names that person on the booking page and in emails.

### Does this work for a clinic?

Yes. The doctor uses the specialist role and the appointment is a timed service. The role cannot yet be renamed. See [Clinics and labs](https://kyuko.me/en/for/medicine/).

### Can specialists see their own bookings?

Yes, when their profile is linked to a staff account. Their bookings appear after login.

### Can walk-ins choose a specialist?

Yes. In mixed queues using specialist mode, visitors select services and a specialist before joining.
